Fitness Week Celebration

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35-B, Chandigarh, vibrantly embraced the Fit India Movement by hosting a comprehensive Fitness Week from 25TH August to 30TH August 2025. The campus was buzzing with energy as students and staff alike committed to a healthier lifestyle through a diverse range of activities.

Highlights of the Week


Daily Wellness: Every class participated in 10-minute sessions of Yoga Asanas and meditation, fostering a calm and focused learning environment.

Sports Day(29 August): A dedicated sports day featured competitive and recreational events for both students and staff, including slow cycling, skipping, hurdle races, and fun games.

Cultural & Traditional Games: The spirit of camaraderie was further ignited through group dances and indigenous games such as Gatka, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Poshampa, and Gette.

Poster Making Competition: Students showcased their artistic talents on the theme "Fit Body-Fit Mind-Fit Environment," with active participation from staff and School Management Committee (SMC) members.

Nutritional Education: Special awareness programs were held to educate students on the benefits of a balanced diet and the importance of choosing nutritious food over processed options.

Culinary Treats: Teachers organized various food stalls offering delicious and healthy "mouth-watering eatables" for the students to enjoy.

The week concluded with a special morning assembly dedicated to the holistic well-being of the youth. Principal Mrs. Parminder Jit Mann lauded the collective efforts of the staff and students in making the event a success. She emphasized that physical and mental fitness should not be a week-long trend but a lifelong commitment, encouraging everyone to integrate these healthy habits into their daily routines.
